Stealth Trend: The Summer boot (part one)

low-boots

The new season might have brought up some very changeable weather in the last few weeks (boiling hot sunshine, which calls for bare legs and skimpy clothes one day and then freezing temperatures and clouds full of the rain the next. Oh but don’t you love the Great British Summer?!) but it’s also created a whole range of lust-have, must-have new season shoe options.

From the cool clogs and wedge heels that everyone from Alexa Chung and Peaches Geldof to Kylie and Cheryl Cole are rocking, to an altogether more stealthy trend. For those who aren’t familiar with the term, a stealth trend is one that creeps up on you unawares – it could have filtered down from the catwalk or it could have been a look that originated from the street, especially as now we’re all obsessed with street style photos and style stalker reports.

So here’s a few words on the summer boot, micro or stealth trend. The summer boot is usually an ankle boot and the best ones are in tan or beige, with brown also looking cool, especially if your pins are still looking on the pale side! The hottest trend is a fabulous fringed boot, which I will talk about more in the second part of this post. I also love a bit of print and leopard print is very cool this season. For now take a look at some of my fave picks and happy shopping!

Shop to watch: Agent Provocateur

Now Valentine’s Day may be over, but that doesn’t mean it’s time to put away the sexy undies. Agent Provocateur is the undisputed queen of sexy and still sophisticated underwear and the vintage edge plus a gorgeously covetable selection of sweet nothings makes it my first port of call for re-stocking the underwear draw.

Started in the early nineties by Serena Rees and Joseph Corre (who is the son of Vivienne Westwood and Malcolm McLaren) Agent Provocateur can be credited with bringing downright sexy and erotic lingerie out of the closet (so to speak) and into the high street. The shops are chic in black and pink, whilst the staff wear revealing pink nurses uniform to add a dose of very British, Carry On humour.

Kate Moss, Daisy Lowe and Peaches Geldof have all starred in their advertising campaigns and the range also includes some rather lovely beauty products and perfumes. The underwear has a 1940’s retro pin-up air. It’s best for lacy, sexy, flirty pieces that won’t go out of style.

All at Agent Provocateur clockwise from top left: Kiki Kimono, Diamond Dust fragrance, Love basque £185 and Pom Pom Mule
